I am sure you have some general idea of what goes on in Kids Community Sunday, but let me tell you a bit of the volunteer hours and effort that goes into one week of Sunday classes, which is just a small slice of Kids Community as a whole. There are Directors, Leaders, Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Hall Monitors and Nursery Attendants. Each function is critical and requires flexibility and a sincere love for children.
I had the honor to support the Sunday leaders and teachers for the past six months. These volunteers invest so much of their selves and their lives into our kids. The opportunity to help them was such a blessing to me. The commitment they make to the kids is inspiring and serves as a wonderful example of how Jesus loves each of us.
The team I worked with was amazing! They were so dedicated and loved every one of the children very well. The team works very hard to build and encourage family involvement. They are focused on the family unit, encouraging them to spend daily time with Jesus, reinforcing their self-worth, teaching them how to value themselves and others. Each adult helps to teach the kids to look for Jesus in their everyday lives, showing them what it means to be a follower of Our Lord and Savior. They take time to get to know each one of the kids as individuals, praying for and with them. Thank you to all volunteers who pour out your hearts and talent to love, teach and care for our kids. Way to Go!
