In October the church family gifted me with some resources to care for my soul and to expand my leadership. These are the newest books on my list to dig in to.
Discipleship continues to be a big focus for us. I respect this author a lot and like his focus on addressing people who don't think church is relevant anymore, not with lights and music and fun events, but with a beautiful, sacrificial commitment to Jesus.
I've noticed the growing cultural voices around transgender issues (who hasn't) and the corresponding lack of much input or thought from the church. I've been reading and praying and talking around transgender questions for a few months. I hope soon to provide at least some draft ideas for the church to chew on.
I keep running up against people who are pointing to trust, so i thought I'd see if I could understand it better and become intentional about building it. I'm going to use this book first with the elders and see if we can develop a high-trust environment among leadership. Then we will see where it goes from there.
Thanks for inviting me to learn and grow and lead.
