SCHOOL YEAR SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY TIMES
Adults
Sundays at 10:30 a.m. is our time to hear and participate in sound Biblical teaching and engaging discussion. We are doing a study on 1 Corinthians through the Spring. We also have a Parent Connecting group.
Corinth was a dual port city that regularly was filled with merchants, travelers, and slaves from all across the known world. However, this everchanging and diverse population also brought its own ideas of life and salvation to the local church, and fed into the divisions that were already beginning to take shape. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians provides detailed instructions about these divisions and directed the Corinthians to remember what he’d taught them from the very beginning: Christ crucified unites all who believe.
In this study we’re going to look at the multitude of divisions that arose in the Corinthian church (circumcision, marriage, food offered to idols, communion, the resurrection, and more!) and what Paul shared with them to bring the church back together under the unifying message of Christ;s death and resurrection.
I’d encourage you to bring your bibles with you as we walk through this dense book and see for ourselves that importance of worshiping the real consistent, living Jesus of the scriptures, rather than the made up, ever-changing, non-existent Jesus of culture.
Kids Community
During the school year, the 2 year-olds through 5th grade meet at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.
Nursery (infants through 3 year, if turning 3 after Sept 1)
Youth
Students in grades 6-12 meet at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning in the youth room. We engage in getting to know one another and discussing what we read in the Bible.
Is there a class you’d love to see on Sunday mornings?
Would you be interested in helping to lead or facilitate one? We have four sessions throughout each year where adult classes take place. Each session is anywhere from 7-11 weeks long. You can use a DVD series, a meaningful Bible or Christian book, write your own study or use a study someone else has prepared. If you are interested in leading a study, contact Kathy.
