Who We Are
The best way to know who we are is to walk and talk with us. But in brief here is a snapshot of our identity.
We are authentic. We don't hide our failures or weaknesses, nor do we hide our beauty or strength. We are not trying to copy any other church.
We are followers. That is our core identity. We follow Jesus. We are not the leaders. We don't set the path or define the way. We don't try to make Jesus fit our culture or adapt to its changing views or morals. We just want to follow Him wherever He goes.

We are always looking for Jesus. If we want to follow Him we need to see Him. To our benefit, He is always at work (John 5.17) around us. So we look in the Bible and we look around us so that we can see what He is up to. The Bible is the most important tool to see Jesus. Any other view of Jesus without the Bible is likely to be skewed by our own thoughts or values. So we teach the Bible and try to obey it and turn to it all the time.
We enjoy people. We are very people-centered. We aren't focused on events or even on our agenda. We want to simply enjoy - or delight in without an agenda - every person who crosses our path. We try to keep a light schedule so that we aren't too busy to just be with people.
We want to do good. Ultimately we want to not just know our faith, but live it. So we always look to do good. This is not good in a lite, frothy manner. But deep, transformative, persistent good. We also don't do good willy-nilly. We want to do the good we see Jesus already doing. We want to join Him. We would rather wait to clearly see Him than just fill our days with "good" activity. The goal isn't just doing good, but doing good with Jesus.
We want to be like Jesus. We are rather weak and frail. We know we are forgiven and then invited to become like Jesus. This is at His pace and on His priorities. So we regularly look for where He is drawing our attention and surrender ourselves to be molded into His image.
We want to walk together. We are never made to be on our own. So we follow Jesus as a family, and we enjoy others, do good and become like Him together. We are vulnerable and honest and intentional about being together. This is not just for an event or a meeting, it is for life.

Verses that we, as a congregation, are taking to heart and living out.
