Just drove in this morning. I live in the hills of Happy Valley. I got around fine in a front wheel drive without chains, but 1) the side roads are slick, you need to drive slow and 2) I grew up in Denver and I feel really confident on snow and ice. The main streets are largely ice free and dry, but there are patches of ice here and there.
On the positive side, the church lot and most of the sidewalks are dry and pretty much free of ice. However 92nd Ave right before you turn on Otty Place (the short hill right up to the church) is icy. the hill up is fine, but be careful and slow on 92nd.
That said we are going to do the normal 8:15/11 schedule with classes at 9:45. If you can make it safe then join us here. If it isn't safe for you then be confident that Jesus is right where you are. If you can't make it I'm going to encourage you to listen in to the sermon online. We will try to get it posted today. I'm not saying that because I am anything special. But today we are looking at understanding the times we live in. I believe that the questions raised are important for all of us to be pondering. And we will be talking about them for a few months as a church. Whether you come or not, know that you are loved and a part of this family.
If you aren't safe getting out but have any needs (groceries, medications, etc.) please call the church office 503-788-7000 and we will find someone to help.
