If you have been to our church, chances are you have met one of our gems. John’s intentional heart for people is obvious when he walks up to you with his hand out, sincerely asking you; “how you are today?” He is so inspiring and amazing to watch as he makes his way around any room greeting and blessing everyone with his genuine love. This is who he is, and it is impressive. We could all take a note from how he loves people. I know for me personally, his example encourages and motivates me to try to love more people.
Shortly after joining BSLC in 1978, John with his wife, Trish, noticed there wasn't a Sunday School class for their toddler son... so, they started one, which remains a vibrant ministry today. Throughout his time with BSLC, John has generously responded with a yes when there was a need. He's served in most areas including Congregational President, Evangelism, Mission leadership and as an Elder. Today he sees his role as one of encouragement and prayer. He prays, regularly and fervently for countless people here and around the world. His hearing may be diminished, but his heart to love and encourage and pray has not. Thank You Jesus for sharing John with us. We love you John, keep being you.
