Why should I take Ministry Protection Training?
Beautiful Savior is committed to providing a safe environment for all ministry participants, volunteers and staff.
In more than 90% of sexual abuse cases the victim and the victim’s family know and trust the abuser.
More than 80% of sexual abuse cases occur in one-adult/one-child situations.
Beautiful Savior’s policy is designed to minimize opportunity for abuse and to empower all adults to protect children from abuse through awareness, responsibility and active participation.
Even the adults we trust to protect children can't always be trusted. Coaches, teachers, clergy, and parents are authority figures children feel they can trust. Yet, a large percentage of those who sexually abuse children are from this group. Children are often taught how to keep themselves safe from sexual abuse - and that's important for them to learn - but it's no substitute for adult responsibility. Ministry Protection Training is required yearly for staff and volunteers working with children, youth and those with special needs. Background checks are required every three years.
You can make a difference in the life of a child – learn how by taking a Beautiful Savior Ministry Protection Training class. Check the ministry calendar for the next opportunity.
